Attention turns to next Saturday 3rd December when the 1st team is at home to fellow strugglers Old Haileyburians in Surrey Division 2.

This is a “must win” game and a big crowd would be a great boost to the team so leave off the Christmas shopping give some loud support.

Bar open from 12 and BBQ from 1.00pm, Kick off 2.30pm.

Heartbreak for U14’s…….

Much gnashing of teeth in the U14’s as both the A’s and the B’s lost their League matches with the last plays of the game on Sunday.

The A team hosted Ironsides and had several great opportunities to score in the first half which were spurned and Ironsides punished us with 2 tries of their own. However, a much fiercer 2nd half display saw Ruts score 2 excellent tries and a touchline conversion 2 minutes from the end gave us the lead and what we thought was victory only to concede a try from the resultant kick off. A truly heartbreaking finish after so much effort…

Congratulations to Will, Freddie, Daniel and Terrell who made their League debuts for the club and played superbly.

A far higher scoring game for the B’s at Sutton and Epsom as they too lost to a last minute try, the final score being 37 – 34 according to us, slightly different according to the referee, but then many of his decisions left the Ruts coaches baffled all afternoon! Debuts also here for Mick, William and Kraig all of whom played really well and a big thanks to Jonah who came out of retirement to play. Last season saw us crushed by this team so it is clear how quickly this team is developing…

After a great friendly win last week the U15’s looked forward to their match against Old Reigatians but unfortunately they waited until the 2nd half to wake up and the match was already lost by then! It was a vastly improved 2nd half though and if they can start the next match like they finished this one, a league victory is not far away.
