O.R.R.F.C Club Rules 

 

  1. The name of the Club shall be “Old Rutlishians’ Rugby Football Club” hereinafter called “the Club”.

  2. (a) Membership shall be confined to the President, Past Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the Old Rutlishians’ Association, members of the aforesaid Association, Junior Members who have paid their subscriptions in accordance with Rule 3 and Patrons.
    (b)All members of the Club aged 16 years or more, shall be first and foremost, members of the Association        

  3. The annual subscriptions for members and the match subscriptions for playing members shall be such amounts as may be determined by the committee.

  4. (a) Vice-Presidents of the Club shall be Vice-Presidents of the Association as appointed by the executive committee of the Old Rutlishians’ Association.
    (b) Patrons of the Club shall be such persons as may be appointed by the Club General Committee.

  5. The right to attend & speak at a General Meeting shall be confined to Members and Patrons. Only Members of the Old Rutlishians’ Association as covered in Rule 2 shall have the right to vote on all matters except the election of the Club Captain when only playing members of the Association may vote.

  6. The Club shall be ruled by a General Committee consisting of the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Captain, Seniors Team Secretary, Seniors Match & Fixtures Secretary, Junior Rep, Minis rep, Media Officer and Executive Committee Rep. with the powers to co-opt.

  7. All Members of the committee shall be entitled to vote.

  8. The financial year shall end on the 30th April. The audited accounts shall be presented at the Annual General Meeting.

  9. (a) The Annual General Meeting shall be held in May. Not less than 14 days written notice shall be given to members as defined in Rule 2, and patrons.
    (b) The General Committee shall be empowered to call an Extraordinary General Meeting on 7 days’ written notice being given to all members and Patrons.
    (c) Upon receipt of notice in writing signed not less than 9 members being given to the secretary stating the business of the proposed meeting, the Secretary shall within 21 days convene an Extraordinary General Meeting in accordance with Rule 8 (b)
    (d)     The notice calling a General Meeting shall specify the business to be transacted. No business other than that for which it is called shall be transacted at an Extraordinary Meeting.

  10. The General Committee shall be empowered to expel or suspend any member who shall fail to pay overdue subscriptions after 7 days’ notice in writing from the secretary to do so, or who shall be considered guilty of bad behaviour on or off the field of play.

  11. The Chairman shall preside over two separate Selection Committees consisting of:

    (a) For the 1st XV-the Club Captain, Director of Rugby, Club Coach and Team Secretary, with the power to co-opt.
    (b) For all other XV’s – Club Captain, Club Coach, Team Secretary and the Teams Reps with the power to co-opt

  12. The Club colours shall be the Old Rutlishians’ Association colours. (Azure, Gold, Black & Silver)

  13. The Club Captain, in conjunction with the Chairman, may award Honour Ties each season, to those members of the 1st XV who, having played at least two-thirds of the matches during the season, are in their opinion entitled to receive them.

  14. None of the foregoing rules shall be amended, suspended or added to in any way save by the consented resolution of a General Meeting or an Extraordinary General Meeting convened for the purpose. The assents of two-thirds of those present and entitled to vote shall be obtained before the proposed alteration shall become effective.

  15. The foregoing rules shall supersede all other rules that may have been adopted from time to time.

     Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Old Rutlishians’ Rugby Football Club will be held in May/June 2010 (date TBC) in the Clubhouse to transact such business as required by the Rules of the Club.
